The Product: Vintage Japanese landscape art
Vintage Japanese landscape art in an elegant, black frame. The atmospheric, framed artwork in a monochrome palette on the sandy-hued paper ground, depicts a watery Japanese landscape with (we believe), Mount Fuji as the backdrop.
The Lowdown
The framed print draws you into the detail: the birds in the sky, huts and shrubs in the foreground are all highlighted in gold, as are the delicately-rendered boats on the water and so catch the light (and your attention!) as you walk past.
How to style your Japanese landscape art?
We think this framed piece would look amazing in an elegant dining room amongst a mix of modern and traditional frames and canvases in a similar monochrome palette. The gold highlights in the print would catch the flickering candlelight come evening. Alternatively, the slim, portrait proportions of the print lend themselves very nicely to hallways or the space between doorways on an upstairs landing.
The Detail
The Japanese art print measures approximately 52cmH x 34cm x 2cm. As a vintage item, there are some minor, barely visible flaws to the black frame – see images – but the framed artwork is in great condition overall. There are no signatures, labels or gallery information on the work. The print is vintage paper-backed and ready to be wall-hung.
