A vintage, decorative wall plate from Hungary with hand-painted detailing. The rustic, earthy palette of natural glazed pottery with intricate cream and brown decoration drew us to this striking piece.
The Lowdown
Hungary has a strong ceramics tradition of both rustic, folk pieces such as this and heritage, fine porcelain brands such as Herend as well as Hollóháza and Zsolnay.

We think this plate would look amazing in a rustic but contemporary kitchen as part of a decorative wall or plate rack display. The Detail
The Hungarian pottery plate measures approximately 30cm in diameter with a 4cm projection. As a vintage item, there are some minor, barely visible flaws in the decoration – see images – but the wall plate is in great condition overall. This piece was originally bought from an antiques fair and is hand-painted. However, we do not know the exact date it was made.
