The Product: Indigo Japanese bowl with floral decoration
A striking, indigo Japanese bowl with scalloped detailing, decorated with a giant flower inside and out.
The Lowdown
The glossy, likely hand-painted, bowl is marked as having been made in Japan and has a distinctively Japanese aesthetic. The scalloped detailing and undulating surface of the bowl mimic the contours of the flower as well as the actual flower design.
How to style your indigo Japanese bowl?
This bowl is such a beautiful piece that it would make a great addition to a still-life display on a sideboard, shelf, chest of drawers or coffee table. The bowl would ideally be displayed at eye level, so the flower decoration, both inside and out, is visible.
The Detail
The flower bowl measures approximately 20cm in diameter x 8cm tall and is in immaculate condition. This piece was originally bought from an antiques fair and is, we suspect, hand-painted and vintage. However, we do not know when exactly it was made.
