The Product: A pretty vintage dish with flower and bird motifs
A pretty, vintage dish with elegant, Chinese decorative arts-inspired, flower and bird motifs.
The Lowdown
The dish or platter is back-stamped ‘Losolware Shanghai’ and hails from the Keeling & Co pottery in Burslem, Staffordshire, England, which operated from 1886 to 1936.
How to style your vintage dish?
Here at Designs By Origin, we have a bit of a weakness for vintage ceramics and especially colourful floral or bird designs. They look striking as a pretty juxtaposition in a sleek, modern scheme. No doubt originally created as a serving dish that formed part of a crockery service, we think this beautiful dish would look great on a modern dressing table as a place to keep beaded necklaces, bangles, rings or watches.
The Detail
The dish is vintage and therefore shows subtle signs of wear (the gold-trimmed rim is slightly worn in places for example). However, it is in very good condition overall. There are no chips or visible damage. The dish measures approximately:
Large: 5cmH x 31cm x 23cm
