A pink floral rhododendron print wallpaper showcasing the quintessentially English landscape surrounding a charming, Sussex, Arts & Crafts house, originally designed by the architect Philip Webb. 

The Lowdown

The hand-printed wallpaper was created in-house at the Rapture & Wright studio. The print was the result of a restoration project at the house with which the design studio was involved. The pattern depicts the gables, chimneys and windows of the Arts & Crafts property surrounded by mature trees and distinctive flowering shrubs in a magical, garden setting.

How to style your rhododendron print wallpaper?

In this muted pink colourway, the design provides a brilliant foil for an elegant white-and-wood scheme. First of all, soften and cosy up your space with textural layering. Hence, we’re thinking a palette of creams and off-whites encompassing velvets, linens, silks and woollens. These might take the form of cushions, upholstery, rugs, drapes or throws. Then add soul and patina with antique furniture in mid-brown tones.

Alternatively, opt for a directional, modern look by adding smart, clean-lined wooden furniture to the mix. Perhaps some sleek walnut or bleached-oak side tables from the likes of Heals or Pinch Design.

Further, apply this elegant paper to just one end wall. In which case, meet the adjacent walls with a toning shade of pink, to match the paler shade in the wallpaper. Farrow & Ball or Little Greene should have some suitably subtle paint tints. This ensures the wallpaper is ’embraced’ by the adjacent walls. It stops it feeling like an afterthought or floating, slightly lost, feature wall. Remember too that bold pattern always looks twice as strong over large areas.
