One of the boldest colour combinations we have seen in a silk Ikat weave, this burgundy, red, pink and yellow design on a white ground is just crying out to make a statement on your sofa! They’d also be perfect paired up on a bed – elegant, unusual and eye-catching pattern accent for lively, colour-infused room schemes.

The Lowdown

Striking silk ikat cushions from the Rosanna Lonsdale range are crafted from hand-dyed fabric that is woven in Uzbekistan to ancient textile designs. Cushions are then made up in London by hand. The decorative silk front (with cotton woven in for strength) is backed in plain, sand-coloured cotton with an amaranth-coloured trim.

The pattern runs horizontally on rectangular cushions, while the pattern may run vertically or horizontally on square cushions, depending on the design. Square cushions include a discreet seam (due to the limited width of the traditional looms upon which the fabric is woven).

Pattern placement varies from cushion to cushion – this is the eclectic nature and charm of ikat fabrics. In fact, ikat patterns were traditionally used together to create an exotic, vibrant display, rich in colour and pattern. The Detail

Square red and white cushions measure 50cm x 50cm, while the rectangular size measures 40cm x 60cm. Both come with luxury, curled, white duck feather cushion pads with a 100% cotton cover. Cushion covers are dry clean only. Keep away from direct sunlight as colours may fade.
