The Product: Springbok print cushion covers
This charming, Springbok print cushion cover depicts this agile creature, leaping in rhythmic arcs across the cloth repeat – rather like an Art deco style print of the African bush. The fabric design, printed in South Africa, is actually called Bokkie – shortened from Springbok – but which also happens to derive from an Afrikaans word as a term of endearment akin to ‘Sweetheart’ or ‘Honey’ and literally translating as ‘little buck’ or ‘little doe’.
The Lowdown
Sourced through specialist South African design collective Porcupine Rocks, the heavyweight cotton fabric is printed in South Africa and the cushions are handmade here in the UK. This subtle and muted monochrome design comes in a grey-on-natural colourway with a smart, corner-pleated, taupe trim.
Styling Ideas?
These monochrome Springbok print cushions undoubtedly add decorative detail and would be dreamy paired up on a cream sofa; either a curvy, traditional style couch or a boxy, linear style with sleek, modular components.
