The Product: Pretty jugs for flowers with floral and bird motifs
Two pretty jugs for flowers in an elegant, Chinese decorative arts-inspired, floral design. On the reverse of each jug is a colourful bird design (swipe through the images to see). Two flower jugs are currently available (essentially identical in colours and designs), either singly or as a pair.
The Lowdown
Thse pretty, flower jugs are back-stamped ‘Losolware Shanghai’ and hail from the Keeling & Co pottery in Burslem, Staffordshire, England operated from 1886 to 1936.
How to style your vintage flower jugs?
Here at Designs By Origin, we have a bit of a weakness for vintage ceramics and especially colourful floral or bird designs. They look great as a pretty juxtaposition in a sleek, modern scheme. I love the contrast of one of these flower jugs filled with blowsy Summer blooms in greens and creams (think mop-head hydrangeas and white lilacs) atop a slick, glossy coffee table or sideboard. As always, the combination of vintage detail and modern lines works brilliantly.
The Detail
These pretty jugs for flowers are vintage and therefore show subtle signs of wear (the gold trimmed rim is slightly worn in places for example). However, they are in very good condition overall. There are no chips and the vases are fully glazed inside and out. There is a minor (historically repaired) hairline flaw in the base of the medium jug. The vases measure approximately:
Large: 19cmH x 18cm x 15cm
Medium: 17cmH x 17cm x 15cm
Select which option you’d prefer from the drop-down or add both to your shopping basket.
