The Product: Small brown retro vase handmade by Kernewek Cornish pottery
A small, brown, retro vase probably dating from the 1970s that was handmade at the Cornish Kernewek pottery. The vase has a brilliantly glossy finish and a ‘honeycomb’ glaze in cream and brown that was typical of this pottery during the abovementioned period.
How and where to style retro vases?
As a vintage, handmade item, purchasing this vase contributes to the circular economy and yet, the vase itself feels decidedly modern with its sleek, retro silhouette and vibrant, glossy finish. Imagine this vase against blue and white striped tiles or wallpaper in a kitchen or dining area for example – brown and blue are always a brilliant complimentary colour combination). Alternatively, how about including the vase in a still life collection of interesting objects on a hall console or sideboard for example, in a pretty palette of soft pinks, muted mauves and sagey greens?
