The Product: Purple handmade ceramic pot
This elegant, prettily-shaped, purple handmade ceramic pot hails from the city of Chiangmai in northern Thailand. The pottery has been producing celadon and stoneware pots in a variety of coloured glazes for more than 40 years.
The Lowdown
Individual glazed stoneware pots from this pottery each bear the mark of the artist maker. The pots are made from local stoneware clay, hand-thrown and then, once dried ‘leather hard’, they are hand-decorated. When completely dry, the pots are biscuit-fired, glazed and then fired a final time.
Styling Ideas?
The glowing colour and shapely silhouette of these ceramics speak for themselves. The fact they are infused with traditional Thai culture and decorative style is an added bonus. But the best bit is that these pots – despite their traditional heritage looks – work brilliantly in modern, interior schemes. We currently have two in stock and a pair would work beautifully at either end of a mantlepiece, used to create an element of symmetry. Mix them up with more directional, decorative accessories in a still life display. Use them as a glossy contrast to matt textures. Or give as a stylish and unique housewarming, Christmas or birthday gift to an interiors-loving friend or family member.
