The Product: Green drop earrings with vintage textile
These hand-embroidered, green, drop earrings are from a selection of handmade jewellery finds we sourced from a brilliant creative at an antiques & vintage fair in beautiful Ljubljana, the Slovenian capital. We love their heritage textile element, Folk-inspired pattern, pretty, green colour and elegant, simple form.
The Lowdown
This collection of jewellery was handmade from vintage, embroidered textile remnants, each unearthed by the jewellery-maker from across her Slovenian homeland. Slovenia is well known for its embroidered-textile heritage. Such patterns recall the European Folk style. The look encompasses the historic and decorative paintings that embellish the interior and exterior of buildings as well as embroidery and stitching adorning traditional folk costumes throughout the European continent and particularly, Central & Eastern Europe. How to style your green drop earrings?
Although these embroidered pendant earrings have Folk and Bohemian vibes, their simple silhouette feels quite modern. I’d juxtapose the rustic, handmade styling with a structural, white shirt, a smart suit or a shift dress for daytime workwear. The Detail
The green drop earrings measure approximately 5cm in length x 1cm in width. Please note there is a slight flash of yellow on the reverse of one of these earrings as the item has been created from a unique, hand-embroidered vintage textile (see images).
