The Product: Brighton bandstand wall art print
First opened in 1884, the Bandstand, located on Brighton’s seafront was restored to its original condition in 2009. Designed by Phillip Lockwood, the distinctive filigree, cast iron design is considered one of the finest examples of a Victorian bandstand still surviving in England today. You can get married in the Grade II listed structure, but if that doesn’t appeal, you can always buy a print of Brighton seafront, put a shell to your ear and suck on a piece of Brighton rock.
The Lowdown
A signed Giclée, this print of Brighton bandstand is printed using the highest quality acid-free light-fast archival 300gsm Minuet Cotton Rag. The heavyweight etching board is velvety smooth with a fine surface texture and is one of the most widely used media worldwide for artwork and photography. Using pigment-based UltraChrome and Ultra Violet (UV) inks, the Giclée printing process ensures superior detail, colours and longevity. The print comes unframed and is delivered in a cardboard tube for you to take straight to your local framer.
Styling Ideas?
Need framing advice? We’d suggest a slim, white frame with subtly visible woodgrain and a white card mount, if you wish the frame to disappear – say, against a white wall – and the print to stand out. Equally as effective is the same style of frame in black – as here – also teamed with a white card mount, to outline the drawing and act like bold, precise punctuation! The third option would be to go for a softer, warmer effect with a natural or stained wooden mount. All three will work beautifully, depending on the backdrop, and the look you want to achieve. Which size? For wow factor and individual impact, opt for the larger format of an A1 print measuring 840 x 594mm of this striking print of Brighton bandstand. If you want to include this drawing as part of a smart gallery wall or eclectic grouping of artwork and photography – go for the smaller A2 version which measures 594 x 420mm.
