The Product: Blue grey cushion covers with Yoruba knot motif
Striking, blue grey cushion covers in a cool, sophisticated palette. This cushion is one of a range of cushions designed by textile designer Eva Sonaike. The knot motif has been used in ‘Adire’ or traditional Yoruba batik technique cloth, for centuries.
The Lowdown
African design cushion covers, such as many from this edit, broadly enliven their surroundings with bold, bright hues. This chic, subtle take on a traditional West African pattern would work wonderfully well in a calmer environment such as a quiet, relaxed sitting room or bedroom. Perhaps on a chaise or occasional chair. Head to Love Your Home for a great selection of lounge upholstery.
Styling Ideas?
It goes without saying that African print cushion covers speak of sunnier climes and lend themselves well to stylish, summer sofas. However, we also rather like the idea of juxtaposing this design with cosy, chunky-knit throws and cushions in a palette of winter whites too. A design for all seasons.
Never feel you must dress your sofa with scatter cushions to match the upholstery. Often, these are optional add-ons when buying a new sofa. Always, create an original look. Furthermore, assemble your own ‘cast of cushions’. Buy from different fabric houses. Create an ideal comfort level.
