Flatwoven in India, this Aztec-inspired rug with diamond pattern references the deep, earthy, warm colours and bold patterns of South America and it’s Aztec heritage.
The Lowdown
This rug combines the South American cultural aesthetic with age-old Indian weaving skills. The creatives behind Mahout Lifestyle have a deep affinity and respect for India and its wide-ranging artisanal traditions, establishing the brand to support and help revive the dying art of dhurrie (rug) making.
Styling Ideas?
Flatweave rugs have a relaxed feel and eclectic appeal altogether different from more formal, high-pile, tufted, wool rugs. It’s worth considering existing elements within the space and the overall look you want to achieve. Flatweaves are a great way of delivering colour and pattern. They are also extremely versatile and can be styled in a number of different ways, sitting happily in Victorian townhouses, urban lofts, country houses or ultra-modern new-builds. The multi-coloured nature of the ‘Aztec’ rugs, means they offer a starting point or ‘anchor’ for your room scheme. Pick and choose two or three colours from the symmetrical rug design to feature as bolder accents or as toning, complimentary shades within the same space. If you go for the more muted, neutral shades, your rug will become more prominent – a ‘stand out’ element within the overall, decorative scheme.
The Detail
The diamond pattern rug is woven by hand in Rajasthan from 100% wool/jute. It is fully reversible, comes with a fringe and is available in two sizes within standard delivery windows if in stock. The rug can also be back-ordered if out of stock, in which case the lead time will be approx. 6-8 weeks.

We have made every effort to ensure our product imagery and colours are truly representative. For added confidence, we are happy to provide you with paint chip/fabric swatch colour references on request, to ensure your finished rug works within your decorative scheme.
Flatweave rugs work brilliantly with non-slip rug holds on both hard surfaces and carpeted floors to prevent possible slipping. Try John Lewis for these or shop around online for various options to suit your floor finish. Wool/jute flatweave rug care: Do not wash or dry clean. Shake and pick clean only.
