The Lowdown
Bijoux Bizarres design and hand-make ‘mythical jewellery for real people’. They draw inspiration from Greek mythology, history and traditions by re-imagining heritage patterns as modern forms. Each modular motif in the collection is representative of an entire period or cultural movement within the history of the Mediterranean region. The quirkily named collections derive from mythical Greek personas, stories or ornaments associated with them or states of mind and emotions inspired by them. Extraordinary heroines from Greek mythology whose attributes are often associated with the Mediterranean soul. Love, strength, greatness, pride and, on occasion, contradiction, vanity and drama!
The hand-crafted pieces in this collection are created in limited numbers from an individual model that has been hand-hammered, using the ancient technique of repousée-on-pitch, to make it ‘perfectly imperfect.’ Hence, each subsequent casting is subtly unique.

This ancient Greek jewellery style necklace is handmade to order in gold-plated silver embellished with freshwater pearls. It measures approximately 45cm in length. Sweat, perfume, cosmetics & soap can occasionally affect platings. Wash with toothpaste & dry with soft fabric when needed.
