The Product: Geometric cushion covers with African circles print
We love these bold, concentric circles geometric cushion covers. The design is inspired by West African cultural motifs. The sky blue ‘Adire’ background is a reference to traditional Yoruba batik techniques. This African themed cushion is one of a range of cushions designed by textile designer Eva Sonaike. Its subtle, almost ‘geometric’ motif, is pretty in its soft blue colouring.
The Lowdown
African design cushion covers, such as many others in this collection, are often vibrant in tone, adding bold, bright colour to their surroundings. This softer, pretty take on a traditional pattern works wonderfully well in a bedroom or dressing room. Perhaps on a chaise or occasional chair? Styling Ideas?
First, it goes without saying that African print cushions speak of sunnier climes and lend themselves well to stylish, summer sofas. However, we also rather like the idea of juxtaposing this design with cosy, chunky-knit throws and cushions in a palette of pale, winter whites and neutrals too. Furthermore, bring a touch of African luxury to your space with a statement, matching pair.
Finally, never feel you must dress your sofa with scatter cushions to match the upholstery. Often, these are optional add-ons when buying a new sofa. Always, create an original look. Furthermore, assemble your own ‘cast of cushions’. Buy from different fabric houses. Create an ideal comfort level.
